The Knicks have won three straight games to pull within 4.5 games of the Hawks in 10th place. RJ Barrett has played an integral role in leading the Knicks and is averaging 23 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists over their recent win streak.
Atlanta Hawks (37-37)
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 17
Trae Young continues to lead the way for the Hawks as they maintain ground in the play-in race. They are 10th in the Eastern Conference, 4.5 games up on the Knicks. With eight games remaining, Atlanta has four against teams above .500.
Cleveland Cavaliers (41-33)
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 13
The Cavaliers enter play on Monday having lost three straight games to continue their recent struggles. Cleveland has gone just 6-12 since Feb. 12 to fall to seventh in the Eastern Conference. They are one game back of the Toronto Raptors in sixth place and would be in the play-in tournament as of now. Fortunately, a game versus the Magic on Monday could help them get back on track.
Brooklyn Nets (39-36)
Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 15
Kyrie Irving was finally cleared to play in Brooklyn, but his return to Barclays Center was spoiled by the Hornets on Sunday. They fell to ninth in the standings and would face a win-or-go-home scenario in the play-in tournament versus the Hawks if the season ended now. However, the Nets have five out of their last seven games at home and face just two teams above .500 in that stretch. With Irving back full-time and a favorable schedule ahead, the Nets will look to finish the season on a high note.

Chicago Bulls (43-31)
Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 14
The Bulls defeated the Cavaliers on Saturday but are still just 4-10 over their last 14 games. After holding home-court advantage for much of the season, Chicago is fifth in the Eastern Conference entering play on Monday and would start the playoffs on the road versus Philadelphia as of now. Five of their remaining eight games are at home as the team will be hoping to build some momentum down the stretch.

Charlotte Hornets (39-36)
Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 16
The Hornets picked up a huge win over the Nets on Sunday, aided by 33 points from LaMelo Ball. Charlotte has won seven out of its last eight games as it moved up to eighth in the Eastern Conference. With Cleveland ahead of them by 2.5 games in the standings and struggling as of late, the Hornets could move up to host a play-in game.

Utah Jazz (45-30)
Brian Westerholt-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 10
The Jazz have suddenly gone cold at perhaps the worst time of the season. They have lost four straight and dropped to fifth in the Western Conference after falling to the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday. After ranking in the top half of the standings for much of the season, they would begin the playoffs without home-court advantage as of now. They have four of their last seven games at home so Utah still has time to do some work.
Toronto Raptors (42-32)
Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 12
The Raptors continue to be one of the hottest teams in the league, going 8-2 over their last 10 games. Since Jan. 29, when they moved above .500 on the season, the Raptors have gone 19-9, which is the sixth-best record in that span. Their recent run has them up to sixth in the Eastern Conference with a one-game lead over the Cavaliers in seventh. They would avoid the play-in tournament if they can stay in sixth.
Minnesota Timberwolves (43-33)
Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 8
The Timberwolves have cooled off a little bit, losing three out of their last four following a four-game winning streak. Minnesota, who is sitting in seventh place and a game and a half back of the Denver Nuggets, is still in the hunt for the sixth seed and the right to avoid the play-in tournament. The two teams will meet in Denver on Friday, which will be a crucial game and could decide who gets the sixth seed.
Denver Nuggets (44-31)
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 11
The Nuggets have won two out of their last three games to open up a 1.5-game lead over the Timberwolves in seventh place. Nikola Jokic has led the Nuggets in scoring in 12 straight games, averaging 30.3 points, 11.9 rebounds and 7.9 assists during that span. The Nuggets will meet the Timberwolves on Friday in Denver in a game that will have huge seeding implications.
Golden State Warriors (48-27)
Brad Mills-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 6
The Warriors‘ woes continued last week having lost five out of their last six games. The group had been working toward turning things around but suffered a huge loss with the injury to Stephen Curry as the two-time NBA MVP will be out for at least another week. Golden State still looks to have home-court advantage in the first round after sitting third in the Western Conference as of Monday.

Miami Heat (47-28)
Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 3
The Heat have lost four straight games to drop to second in the Eastern Conference. Of course, the story of the week was the dust-up on the bench Wednesday versus the Warriors. Jimmy Butler and Udonis Haslem got into it while Erik Spoelstra was also involved in the incident. The team acknowledged it has some issues to sort through before the playoffs begin as it will need to do so rather quickly. Miami has seven games remaining, with four of them on the road.
Dallas Mavericks (46-29)
Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 9
Dallas has won three out of its last four games and picked up an important victory over Utah in the process. The Mavericks are up to fourth in the Western Conference and would currently host the Jazz in the first round of the playoffs.
Philadelphia 76ers (46-28)
Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 7
The 76ers picked up a big win over the Heat on Monday as Tyrese Maxey led the way with Joel Embiid and James Harden resting in that contest. They went 2-1 on their three-game West Coast trip and are in a battle for the best record in the Eastern Conference as the top four teams are separated by just half of a game. Philly has eight games left with four of them against teams above .500.

Milwaukee Bucks (46-28)
Christine Tannous-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 4
Despite losing to the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday, the Bucks are 10-3 over their last 13 games. They are among the four teams in contention for the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference but will have a tough schedule to close out the season. Six out of their final eight games are against teams above. 500.
Boston Celtics (47-28)
Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 5
The dominant run by the Celtics continued on Sunday as the team posted its sixth straight win over the Timberwolves. Jayson Tatum picked up Eastern Conference Player of the Week honors again after averaging 32 points, five rebounds and five assists in three games. Boston is 30-9 since Jan. 1 — the second-best record in the NBA — and has the top-ranked defense and No. 3 offense during that span.
The Celtics have seemingly emerged as a strong playoff contender but suffered a setback when it was reported on Monday that Robert Williams will miss several weeks due to a torn left meniscus. The injury could prove to be a key one as Williams has emerged as a key player for Boston and is in the midst of his best year to date, averaging career-highs in points (10.0), rebounds (9.6) and blocked shots (2.0).
Boston will have its hands full adjusting to life without Williams but the team looks to have the pieces in place in the frontcourt to withstand things with him out of the lineup.

Memphis Grizzlies (52-23)
Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports
Last Rank: 2
The Grizzlies, without Ja Morant, are still having fun on the court and have continued their winning ways. They have won four straight with seemingly everyone stepping up as of late with Morant resting a sore knee. With seven games left, the Grizzlies appear to be set for a deep playoff run.
